PAC Tour – Registration day

Saturday 4th of July – Independance day was also registration day for PAC tour. By today all remaining participants and crew for PAC tour had arrived. Registration consisted of meeting Susan Notorangelo and Lon Haldeman (both Coast to coast record holders from RAAM) and their crew. Susan then gave us a short introduction talk and handed out all of our goodies which come with participation (PAC Tour cycling jersey, PAC Tour T shirt and PAC Tour holdall). After this those that hadn’t already sorted out their bikes got them put back together and then we all went for a shake down ride to a bike shop in Portland and back.

The PAC tour trailers are integral to life on PAC tour. They store your gear, carry spares, act as Sag wagons, mobile cafes, workshops. Without these trailors PAC tour just could not function. After a tough climb they are a welcome sight as you come into a rest stop to refill water bottles, grab some food etc. The PAC tour crew are always there to help you out should you have any problems, physical, mechanical or otherwise.

With all that sun do you look like Gerry Berry, (phoenix nights), yet? Good to hear its going well and that you are enjoying the trip.
I mentioned it to Bob Matchett and gave him the URN so you may get a message off him too this week.

  2. Hi Russ,
Good man, carbo reloading before you’ve even finished the day – enthusiasm of the hardest core. Keep that up. It’ll wind up the rest of the PAC Tourers…
Do you get AAA points (American Alcohol Aboard) for this effort too?

    Cheers,
    Graeme McC.

PS Humber Br 400 was in perfect conditions – 20 hours, warm, calm…

  3. Some nice pics there Russ. Glad to hear you’re doing well. Looking forward to hearing some stories about snakes 😉
Keep going mate, will be proud of you when you’re finished – and there’ll be loads of beer waiting for you when we next go out!
    Love Zoe x
